NEW DELHI: Samsung has announced a new smartphone, Galaxy Express, with top-of-the-line connectivity features like 4G LTE and NFC. However, most other features of the smartphone appear pale in front of the latest connectivity technologies it boasts of.
The all-new Samsung Galaxy Express has a 4.5-inch SuperAMOLED Plus screen with resolution of 800x480p. It runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) and is powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core processor and 1GB RAM. Buyers can look forward to 8GB onboard storage and microSD card support up to 32GB. Samsung has once again used the design theme it has followed since Galaxy S III was launched.

Coming to the connectivity suite, the new smartphone can connect to the internet via 2G, 3G, 4G and Wi-Fi, while data can be transferred over Bluetooth 4.0, NFC and microUSB 2.0. The rear camera of the new Galaxy Express is a bit of a let-down, since it has a 5MP sensor and packs with LED flash. The secondary camera of the device has a 1.3MP unit. Some exclusive apps included in the phone by Samsung are AllShare Play, ChatOn and S Beam.

Considering the long way 4G connectivity has to go in India, it is unlikely that the device will be launched here anytime soon. The company recently unveiled Galaxy Grand, a smartphone with 5-inch screen at Rs 21,500. It is yet to showcase previously announced phones like Galaxy S III Mini, Galaxy Xcover 2 and Galaxy Premier.
