Google to get 50,000 Gujarat SMBs online by 2014

Internet search giant Google said it aims to get 50,000 small medium businesses (SMBs) in Gujarat online by end of 2014.

The initiative is part of Google's national campaign, India, get your business online, which offers free websites and hosting to SMBs in India, it said in a release.

The campaign is aimed at bringing down the barrier that prevents SMBs to get on the internet, it added.

Google also unveiled details of a special project wherein Google India and HostGator went to popular traditional markets in Ahmedabad, Surat, Vadodara and Rajkot and built websites for 5,000 small businesses.
