Infosys adds 12 executives to its management team

BANGALORE: In perhaps its biggest ever expansion of its leadership team, Infosys has inducted 12 new faces to the executive council (EC), taking the total strength of its highest operational decision-making body to 30. The EC had only 16 members at the end of 2012-13, which means its strength is now almost double that..

The company said this was done to provide greater focus to its new growth areas. Business unit and subsidiary heads of emerging businesses are now part of the council.

It may also have been done to retain key executives. Infosys has seen several top level exits recently, most prominently that of board member Ashok Vemuri and Sudhir Chaturvedi, the financial services head for the Americas. As EC members, the new inductees will be entitled to an allowance of $150,000 per annum pro rata for the period as member.

The new EC members are: Dheeshjith V G, who is the senior VP-growth markets that combines the operations of Australia, New Zealand, Japan, China, Middle East, South East Asia, France and Germany. All the country heads in these countries report to him.

Eric Paternoster, CEO and president of Infosys Public Services, an Infosys subsidiary focused on healthcare and public sector in the US and Canada; Ganesh Gopalakrishnan, senior VP-information systems; Gautam Thakkar, CEO of Infosys BPO; Haragopal Mangipudi, senior VP and head of Finacle; Jackie Korhonen, country head of Australia and New Zealand; Manish Tandon, senior VP-life sciences; Muralikrishna K, senior VP-computers and communications division; Ravi Kumar S, senior VP-insurance; Ronald Hafner, CEO of Infosys Lodestone; Sanjay Jalona, senior VP-manufacturing; Subu Goparaju, senior VP at Infosys Labs.

India's second largest IT company had appointed three members to the EC in August. These were Ranganath Mavinakere, Binod Hampapur Rangadore, and Nithyanandan Radhakrishnan.

Mavinakere, who was the chief risk officer of the company, now heads the cost-optimization initiative in the chairman's office. Rangadore heads the new global delivery model in the chairman's office. He was previously the head of the India business unit and global head of corporate relations. Radhakrishnan is a senior VP and general counsel.
