Apple's App Store sales topped $10b in 2013

NEW YORK: Apple has announced that its customers spent over $10 billion on the App Store in 2013, including over $1 billion in December alone.

According to the company, customers downloaded almost three billion apps in December making it the most successful month in App Store's history.

Apple also informed that developers have now earned $15 billion on the App Store.

The Cupertino giant mentioned the most successful app titles including Candy Crush Saga, Puzzles & Dragons, Minecraft, QuizUp and Clumsy Ninja, adding that these were created by international developers.

Apple's iOS App Store offers more than one million apps for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch users in 155 countries around the world, with more than 500,000 apps being native iPad apps.
