Samsung Galaxy S5 price dips below Rs 35,000

NEW DELHI: Samsung's top-end smartphone Galaxy S5 has seen its price drop once again, dipping below Rs 35,000 for the first time. The smartphone is now available for Rs 34,481 on Flipkart and Rs 33,325 on eBay India.

However, the smartphone is still listed at Rs 51,500 on official Samsung India websites.

This unofficial price drop marks yet another low for the top Samsung smartphone, which was launched at Rs 51,500 in March this year.

Less than a fortnight after its launch, Samsung issued a press release stating that the official price of the smartphone remained unchanged. This was done after its price had dropped on e-commerce sites by several thousand rupees within a few days.

In May, Samsung Galaxy S5 was available for less than Rs 40,000.

Though other top-end smartphones have also seen their prices reduce, the fall has been less compared to that of Samsung Galaxy S5. HTC One (M8), launched at Rs 49,990, can now be purchased for Rs 41,900 online. Similarly, Sony's Xperia Z2 smartphone is now available for approximately Rs 44,000, down from its launch price of Rs 49,990.
