Xolo eyes gamers with Play 8X-1100 smartphone

NEW DELHI: Indian smartphone brand Xolo, owned by Lava, has launched a gaming-focussed smartphone as part of its Play series. The smartphone packs Mali 450 graphics processor clocked at 700MHz, 1.7GHz octa-core processor, 6-axis motion sensing gyroscope and 2GB RAM under the hood and sports a 5-inch display.

Xolo Play 8X-1100's display features Full HD resolution and is protected by Gorilla Glass 3. The smartphone runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat); the company has not yet clarified whether or not the device comes with its new HIVE UI. It comes with 16GB internal storage and supports microSD cards with capacities up to 32GB.

On the back of Xolo Play 8X-1100 is a 13MP camera with Sony's Exmor RS sensor, while a 5MP front camera is located in front. The dual sim smartphone can access the internet over 2G, 3G and Wi-Fi networks, while data can be transferred over Bluetooth, Hotknot and microUSB. It is powered by a 2,100mAh Li-ion battery.

Buyers will get access to Xolo's exclusive gaming zone, named Play Zone, where they can download and play free as well as paid HD games.

Play 8X-1100 smartphone is priced at Rs 14,999 and is now available in retail stores, Xolo said in a statement.
