Apple Watch to be launched in March: Report

NEW DELHI: Here's good news for Apple fanboys, your wait for Apple Watch may end soon. According to 9to5mac, the work on Apple Watch is "on track" and the device may ship by the end of March.

Earlier, Apple had announced that watch would ship in "early 2015", however, the company had maintained a silence on the month of the launch.

The tech giant is finishing up the work on the software of Apple Watch and may schedule "an extensive testing program" between 9-16 February for Apple Retail Store employees to get familiar with the new product, says the news report.

Apple is reportedly putting the watch's OS and battery to rigourous testing.
Though expectations are high from the smartwatch, a top investor recently predicted it to be 'flop'. Union Square Ventures partner Fred Wilson -- known for having backed companies like Twitter, Zynga, and Indeed at very early stages -- said that the Apple Watch will not be the home-run product like iPod, iPhone, and iPad have been.
The Apple Watch will be available at a starting price of $349, and will work in tandem with the iPhones. There are three variants of the smartwatch: Apple Watch, Apple Watch Sports and Apple Watch Edition. The last variant is made of 18-carat gold, according to Apple.
