The new smartphone is priced at Rs 4,390 and can control TVs, ACs, set-top boxes, DVD players, speakers and even fans. This is achieved with the help of an app named ZaZa Remote, which allows users to select the list of products to be connected with the smartphone. The app then saves the model number for the products with which the function is operational, the company said in a statement.
On the hardware front, Intex Aqua Y2 Remote has a 4-inch IPS screen with 480x800p resolution and is powered by the 1.2GHz dual-core Mediatek MT6572 chipset with 512MB RAM. This Android 4.4.2 (KitKat) smartphone has 4GB internal storage and supports microSD cards with capacities up to 32GB.
The all-new Aqua Y2 Remote smartphone sports a 5MP primary camera and 2MP secondary camera and comes with software features like panorama shot, smile shot and face detection. The dual-sim smartphone can access the internet over 2G, 3G and Wi-Fi and transfer data via Bluetooth and microUSB. Weighing 110 grams, this smartphone has a 1,500mAh battery and comes in white, black and grey colours.
Sanjay Kumar Karilona, mobile business head, Intex Technologies, said, "As the name suggests, the smartphone turns into a remote once synced with the products. Designed for the users on the go, the Y2 remote is available on different e-portals as well as on various retail stores distributed across the country."
