NEW DELHI: It seems like Windows 10 will make its way to the low-end Windows Phone smartphones after all. This was confirmed by chief of Microsoft's mobile and convergence strategy, Joe Belfiore, via a tweet.

According to the tweet, Windows 10 will be coming to the budget smartphones including the most popular Lumia 520.

However, he also said that not all features of Windows 10 may be supported by 512MB devices and may vary across devices.

He also revealed that the Insider program, through which the company will distribute the test build of the OS, to be launched "in February", is undergoing "internal testing" at the moment.

He further added that it will support only a subset of devices initially, and later extended to others.
Belfiore also announced that the timing of the update on the ultra-cheap smartphones will vary too.

Windows 10 on phones will bring many new improvements, overhauls and features including interface changes, universal apps, improved Office apps, and improved keyboard, among others.
