Infosys global sales head Basab Pradhan resigns

BANGALORE: Basab Pradhan, the group head of sales and marketing in Infosys, has quit the company to start his own venture. Pradhan tweeted the following a few hours ago: "Leaving Infosys to go back to the startup world. To all my friends at Infosys - please stay in touch."

Over two stints at Infosys, Basab has played many roles in the organization across sales, marketing, industry solutions and P&L leadership. Starting with opening the company's first sales office in the New York area in 1995, Basab has been involved in the formation and growth of the offshore services industry. During his leadership as the head of global sales, the company grew from $400 million to $2 billion.
Pradhan was serving as head of global sales when he first quit Infosys in 2005 and founded Gridstone Research. Gridstone was a venture-funded technology start-up in the area of unstructured data in financial information. Pradhan rejoined Infosys in 2011.
