LONDON: A Google techie has reportedly predicted 'screenless' computing devices in future, including mobile phones, which would rely purely on voice recognition.

Google's head of voice recognition technology and senior engineering director at the firm, Scott Huffman said that the company has seen dramatic growth of voice search and recognition tools.

He pointed to a future where a whole variety of devices would be available, including a super computer in pockets, in watch, in glasses, and even in the lapel as well as laptop, adding that some of these would have a screen and a keyboard while some won't, the Guardian reports.

The search giant recently rolled out its 'Ok Google' command for voice search on desktop platform, akin to its highly anticipated Google Glass device, which offers basic directions, photos and video and basic web searches mostly through voice commands.

Huffman admitted that some web users might not be aware of Google's ability to respond to voice instructions adding that getting used to a technology takes time as it is a cultural thing, the report added.
