#Computex2014: Dell upgrades Venue 7 and Venue 8 tablets

NEW DELHI: Dell has upgraded its Venue 7 and Venue 8 Android tablets with better displays, thinner and lighter form factor and powerful processors. Making the announcement at Computex trade show in Taiwan, the company informed that the new Dell Venue 7 and 8 tablets will be available from July 1 on Dell.com starting at $159.99 and $199.99, respectively.

The new Dell Venue 7 sports a 7-inch IPS display with WXGA (1280x800p) resolution. Powered by a 1.6GHz Intel Atom (Z3460) 'Merrifield' dual-core processor and 1GB of RAM, the tablet sports a 5MP rear camera and a 1MP front-facing camera.

The new Dell Venue 8 features an 8-inch full-HD (1920x1200p) display. The tablet is powered by a 2.1GHz Intel Atom (Z3480) 'Merrifield' dual-core processor and 1GB RAM. It sports a 5MP rear camera and a 2MP front-facing camera.

Both tablets run Android 4.4 KitKat.

"The Dell Venue tablets are designed to be essential companions to power projects, provide entertainment, and share meaningful moments with family and friends," said Sam Burd, vice president and general manager, Dell Personal Computing Product Group.

The new Dell Venue tablets also feature an easy-grip design on the back, and will be available in red or black colour options.
